Active Shooter Drill At City Hall Friday Will Close Down Building And Nearby Streets

The active shooter drill will close City Hall to the public 6 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday.

DOWNTOWN — City Hall and surrounding streets will be temporarily closed Friday during an active shooter drill.

The drill is 10 a.m.-1 p.m., with City Hall closed to the public 6 a.m.-1 p.m. so officials can prepare, according to a news release from the Office of Emergency Management and Communications.

Street and sidewalk closures:

  • LaSalle Street from Randolph to Washington will be closed to vehicles 7 a.m.-1 p.m. 
  • The west side sidewalk on LaSalle Street will be closed.
  • Wells Street between Court Place and Washington will be closed.

Along with the Office of Emergency Management and Communications, the fire and police departments are taking part in the drill, according to the icty.
