CHICAGO — Families in need can grab free turkeys at giveaways Friday and Saturday.

Turkeys and other food will be available at giveaways Friday in Englewood and Saturday in Roseland and Garfield Park to help families prepare for Thanksgiving next week.

The details:

Englewood

Local groups are teaming up to give away turkeys 2-6 p.m. Friday at 400 W. 71st St. Englewood residents can get turkeys, food baskets and trimmings, according to a news release.

Roseland

Roseland Community Hospital will host its turkey drive beginning 10 a.m. Saturday at the hospital, 45 W. 111th St., according to a news release. It’s partnering with Molina Healthcare and BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois to give away 250 turkeys and a free hot meal to families who come by.

Turkeys will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Garfield Park

Garfield Park residents can stop by an event 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m Saturday at 3834 W. Madison St. to get free turkeys, fresh vegetables and other food staples, according to a news release.

There will also be warm meals to go, a hat and glove giveaway, STEM resources for kids and other resources, according to the news release.
