LOGAN SQUARE — It’s time to get down under the red lights again, Logan Square.

Popular dance bar Slippery Slope, 2357 N. Milwaukee Ave., is set to reopen 8 p.m. Thursday, owners announced on Instagram Tuesday.

The reopening comes after a long hiatus.

It’s unclear exactly how long the get-down bar has been closed. The owners didn’t respond to multiple requests for comment. But crews could be seen doing construction work inside the bar in recent weeks.

The group behind Logan Square bars Scofflaw, The Moonlighter and Outside Voices opened Slippery Slope in 2014 as a replacement to late-night dance bar Bonny’s.

The following year, the owners opened upstairs cocktail lounge Heavy Feather in the same building. That bar has also been closed for several months amid the pandemic.

Slippery Slope is known its all-night, red-lit dance parties.

The owners teased the bar’s reopening with Instagram posts this week, including a photo of its fresh facade with a caption that reads, “Felt cute, might reopen this week.”

A commenter asked if Heavy Feather is also making a comeback, and Slippery Slope’s official account replied, “Not yet…”
