WEST LOOP — A free community block party is coming to Madison Street in the West Loop this weekend.
Madison Row Fest will feature free family activities 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday on Madison Street between Morgan Street and Racine Avenue.
The block party, hosted by the West Central Association, will feature musicians, artists, kid-friendly games, neighborhood bingo and free fitness classes throughout the day. Businesses along the corridor will offer deals and activities, according to the West Central Association.
The musical lineup includes Yomi the harpist, Dj Lady D, Yuri the Beat Box Harmonica Man, Latin beats by Abel, DJ Psycho B! and Curious Grace and Black Rabbit.
Madison Row Fest is being funded through a $65,000 grant from the city, $20,000 of which will be used to create bright, semi-permanent asphalt art at four intersections along Madison Street — at Morgan, Aberdeen, Peoria and Throop — in an effort improve street safety.
