SOUTH SHORE — The Central South Shore Area Council is hosting an art-filled family event Saturday for community members.

Starry Starry Night runs 5:30-9:30 p.m. at 7600 S. Merrill Ave. with live jazz from the Roger Harris Jazz Quartet and a silent art auction. There will be refreshments, and attendees are asked to bring their own lawn chair.

Art for the silent auction can be viewed online through posts on Starry Starry Night Silent Art Auction Facebook event. The posts feature information about each art piece, including its title, the artist, the medium and value.

Community members can bid on the 20 art pieces with bids accepted until 8 p.m. Saturday, according to the Facebook event. The art will go to the highest bidder, who must be present or send a representative to Saturday’s event to pay for it and receive it, organizers said online.
