EAST SIDE — Students and parents can get safety tips and learn how to prevent bullying during a Tuesday night event in East Side.
The School Safety Night event is 7 p.m. Tuesday at Toci, La Diosa, 3656 E. 106th St. It will livestreamed on the South By SouthEast Facebook page. The podcasters are teaming up with the Mind If We Chat mental health podcast and with Toci, La Diosa for the event.
Attendees will discuss school safety, preventing bullying, what to do during a school crisis and how to support students throughout the school year, according to a Facebook post.
Speakers will include Roni Facen, the principal at St. Francis De Sales High School, and Po McNeal, a school resource officer.
There will also be a back-to-school giveaway 5-7 p.m. at Toci, La Diosa. Children will receive school supplies and will be entered into a raffle for a backpack with more supplies.
