UPTOWN — RAKKAN Ramen, a ramen restaurant that began as a four-seater in Tokyo, is coming to Uptown this month.

The ramen spot’s grand opening is set for Aug. 22 at 4926 N. Broadway.

RAKKAN’s menu features ramen made with 100 percent plant-based broth, salads, dumplings, buns and sushi — and matcha mochi ice cream for dessert. There are gluten-free and vegan options.

RAKKAN Ramen’s Uptown location will offer gluten-free and vegan menu items.

RAKKAN Ramen opened in 2011 in Tokyo and expanded overseas to Los Angeles in 2017. Since then, other locations have popped up in California, Georgia, Texas and Colorado.

The Uptown eatery will be the United States’ seventh RAKKAN Ramen. It also has seven locations in Japan.

Other locations will also open soon in California, Texas, Nevada and Washington, D.C.
