  • Credibility:

CHICAGO — Block Club asked readers from around the city to send us their jack-o’-lanterns — and they sent in amazingly creepy, funny and cute masterpieces.

And the winner is …

Emily Ferguson, of Andersonville. Emily (and her adorable pumpkin) was chosen at random to win the raffle, getting Block Club merch and a $100 gift card.

Emily’s jack-o’-lantern:

“The face is based on the cat bus from ‘My Neighbor Totoro,’ because Halloween is always better with some smiling cats,” Ferguson wrote in an email. “I read Block Club because I really appreciate local original reporting, and also like being able to keep up-to-date with hyperlocal happenings via the neighborhood newsletters.”
