GARFIELD PARK — Residents can support breast cancer awareness efforts this month at the Garfield Park Neighborhood Market.
People are encouraged to walk, run or bike to the market 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday and Oct. 23 at The Hatchery, 125 N. Kedzie Ave. They’ll hear survivors’ stories and can access health resources from Equal Hope, a non-profit reducing disparities in women’s health care.
Attendees can also shop and buy fresh produce from the Garfield Park Garden Network. Those with SNAP benefits and Link cards will receive Link match incentives for produce through Link Up Illinois.
The Garfield Park Community Council hosts the farmers market, which will wrap up for the year after the Oct. 23 event. Several vendors, such as A Taste of Nostalgia, Fulton Street Flower and Vegetable, will be featured at Saturday’s event.
Organizers require face masks.
