LAKEVIEW — Three dogs who went missing Thursday after their doggie day care van was stolen have been found.

The dogs — Keith, Pappy and Stella — were in the back of a transport van for Dogaholics, a Lakeview-based doggie day care, boarding and grooming service at 3608 N. Southport Ave., according to police and a Dogaholics Facebook post.

The driver parked the white van in an alley and left it unattended with the keys in the ignition and the doors locked, police said. When he returned to the van, he saw people in the van driving away with the dogs inside.

The van was found about 8:50 p.m. Thursday in the 1600 block of South Lawndale after a concerned citizen saw it and called police, police said. The three dogs were inside the van unharmed. The dogs will soon be reunited with their family, Dogaholics said in a Facebook post.
