WEST TOWN — The Irish Nobleman Pub loves St. Patrick’s Day so much, they’re celebrating its half-birthday this weekend.
The West Town bar has set up inflatable decorations along its patio and is offering drink specials Friday and Saturday to mark the beloved Irish holiday — six months in advance.
Halfway To St. Patricks Day is the latest in a string of outdoor events organized by the bar known for its lavish holiday decorations.
“This year, it’s especially important to give people things to look forward to and safe outdoor events,” said Irish Nobleman co-owner Candace Morgan. “We really are trying to max out our usage of the outdoor space just to give people open air, safe event space.”
During the pandemic, the bar also opened a walk-up coffee and ice cream window, and expanded their patio to take up a sizable portion of Erie Street. That allowed them to stay open for most the pandemic, making last year their “best ever” according to Declan Morgan, the Nobleman’s other co-owner.
“What we did here with all the extra seats and stuff, there wasn’t a lot of competition. We’re one of the few places that remained open, a lot of places went out of business. So we didn’t wait for anybody, we just did it,” he said.
The bar is also holding a plant swap on Sunday, and Morgan says they’re already preparing for a massive Halloween display next month.
“We’re really going all out … we now have a 20-foot [inflatable] cat, its head rotates. We have a 12-foot skeleton, it’s going to be right in front of the door,” he said. “Parents go out of their way they bring their kids over, and everyone’s waiting to see what we do next. So this has been great.”
