ENGLEWOOD — An Englewood organization is bringing barbecue goodness to the South Side this weekend.
Growing Home, a non-profit organization that operates urban farms in Englewood while creating food access and employment programs, is teaming up with some of the South Side’s best grill masters Sunday for the 8th Annual Backyard Barbecue.
Between 2-5 p.m., barbecue lovers can visit the Growing Home Urban Farm, 5814 S. Wood St., for good eats, drinks and games. There will also be a raffle and auction with dozens of prizes. The adults-only event costs $75 at the door to enter. Englewood residents can contact the organization for a special discount. All proceeds go towards Growing Home.
Five dynamic chefs will show off their cooking skills, including Englewood native Chef Mouche, ‘Guys Grocery Games’ contestant Chef T.A., and Chef Bernard Bennett, who famously cooked for Beyoncé when he worked at Buck’s in Wicker Park.
The outdoor event will follow the latest Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines, and require masks and social distancing. Tickets sales are limited.
