Final Sundays On State Lineup Announced, A Sendoff For Summer Event Series

This weekend's edition will feature 100 on-street activations, including live painting sessions, DJ sets, DIY classes and more.

DOWNTOWN — The Sundays On State series, which celebrates arts, culture, recreation and shopping Downtown, wraps this weekend. 

The final Sundays On State will take place 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday on State Street from Lake to Madison. 

The event is free and will feature 100 on-street events, including DePaul University Paint the Loop Blue activities, a plant truck from Get Growing Foundation,  a fashion photo shoot by Macy’s and Chicago Fashion Incubator, fitness classes and live painting. 

Performers will include The Freakeasy, several DJs sets by Paint the City, Derrick Carter and Ballet Chicago.

Walgreens will offer walk-up COVID-19 vaccinations in front of its State and Madison location. There will also be retail and food vendors. 

“We had high hopes and lofty goals for this project, and it’s exceeded all expectations,” Michael Edwards, Chicago Loop Alliance president and CEO, said in a statement. “This really is an interactive city-wide block party, at a time when we all need some joy and positive energy. You don’t want to miss out on making memories on State Street.”
