ROGERS PARK — Four pop-up “people spots” are coming to Rogers Park businesses this year.
The Rogers Park Business Alliance is bringing the temporary outdoor spaces to a business each month through November. The spaces are set up on a parking spot adjacent to the business. They offer seating and programs like board games, live painting and music, according to the business alliance.
The next people spot will happen 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday at Chicago Upholstery & Drapery Company, 7101 N. Ridge Blvd.
The schedule:
- Sept. 25 at Homegrown Wrappings, 1505-1507 W. Morse Ave.
- Oct. 16 at Lost Eras, 1511 W. Howard St.
- Nov. 27 at New 400 Theaters, 6746 N. Sheridan Road
All events are held 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
The final people spot will coincide with Small Business Day and the start of the business alliance’s holiday shopping campaign, which offers a cash rebate to people who shop locally.
Similar people spots have come to Rogers Park. In 2019, the business alliance won a $7,500 grant to bring a people spot to the neighborhood. It bought a previously used people spot from the Andersonville Chamber of Commerce.
