CHICAGO — Local couples can win a free wedding or civil union at the Wrigley Building during a new contest.
The Magnificent Mile Association is honoring the building’s 100th anniversary with an event where up to 50 couples will get married or enter a civil union for free, according to a news release. One couple can also get the grand prize honeymoon package.
Couples can apply online until 11:59 p.m. Aug. 31. Most winners will be notified by Sept. 1, while the grand prizer winner will be notified by Sept. 8.
Winning couples will be married 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Sept. 26 underneath the Wrigley Building’s iconic bridge, 401 N. Michigan Ave. The outdoor ceremonies will help families stay safe amid the pandemic, according to the Magnificent Mile Association.
Local judges will officiate the ceremony, and couples can take photos at the closed DuSable Bridge afterward. Up to two witnesses, as well as underage children, will be allowed to be present with each couple during their wedding or civil union ceremony.
Couples can also attend a post-ceremony celebration with more guests, and the couples will get a swag bag, according to the news release.
