ROSELAND — Roseland Community Hospital will host its ninth back-to-school celebration and school supplies giveaway Sunday.
It will start 10 a.m. at 45 W. 111th St. There will be free food, games and live music, according to a Roseland news release.
Roseland will donate 500 backpacks with school supplies to students ranging from kindergarten to high school. The backpacks will go to any students in the Roseland area while supplies last.
The hospital also will offer back-to-school physicals and dental exams to students. Free hair braiding will be offered courtesy of the Paul Mitchell School, and gift certificates for free haircuts at Larry’s Barber College will be given out.
Luft Balloons will give away 100 balloons to event attendees and stage a “balloon burst” as part of the festivities.
There will be activities from Olive Harvey College, YMCA, The Museum of Science and Industry, Allison’s Infant and Toddler Center and the SGA Youth and Family Services.
Roseland was established in 1924 and offers a range of community health services for Far South Side residents, including behavioral health and COVID-19 services.
