Yoga, Music And Classic Cars Coming To Michigan Avenue Sunday For ‘Meet Me On The Mile’ Event

Music, cars, exercise classes and more will be available at the first of three Sunday street celebrations planned through October. The street will be closed to traffic Sunday.

THE LOOP — You can check out classic cars, practice yoga and hear local music this weekend — in the middle of Michigan Avenue.

The “Meet Me on the Mile” event series continues Sunday with “Music & Motors,” featuring activity stations from 9 a.m-5 p.m. Aug. 15 on Michigan Avenue between Pearson Street and Chicago Avenue.

The event, hosted by the Magnificent Mile Association, will close the Mag Mile stretch to traffic from 12 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday.

Sunday’s festivities will include a day-long car show and music performances from multiple artists, including the Chicago Bears Drumline. 

Other activities will include Silent Disco Yoga (tickets required), a Tai Chi class, an adoption event from PAWS Chicago and free flu and COVID-19 vaccines from Walgreens. 

Attendees can register for the event for free to receive reminders and updates.

The “Sunday Spectacles” events series will run through October. “Meet Me on the Mile” also includes Thursday pop-up concerts every two weeks through the end of the September..
