Top Pastry Chefs Whipping Up Floral-Inspired Pastries For A Good Cause In Fulton Market

Some of Chicago's top pastry chefs will create floral-inspired treats in a competition hosted by HBO's "Full Bloom" host Elizabeth Cronin and Ace Hotel’s pastry chef Felicia Mayden.

FULTON MARKET — Ready? Set. Bake!

Some of the city’s top pastry chefs will compete at Flower & Flour: Pastry Bake-off 11 a.m. Aug. 22 at the Ace Hotel, 311 N. Morgan St.

The event is hosted by Ace Hotel’s pastry chef Felicia Mayden and HBO’s Full Bloom host and Asrai Garden owner Elizabeth Cronin. Tickets can be purchased here. Kids 3 and under can enter for free. Tickets for children ages 4-12 are $3; 13 and over are $10.

Mayden, Faith Taheny of Sugargoat, Mai Giffard of Bang Bang Pie and Kelly Dull of Kasama will create floral-inspired desserts for the chance to win a donation towards their favorite nonprofit organization. 

Other chefs include Val Taylor of Loba; Ashley Johnson of Petal & Moon Pastry; Danielle Marelli of Coda di Volpe, Ashley Robinson of Dusek’s; Nicole Guini of Adalina; and Danielle Snow of Prequel Cafe.

Guests will sample bite-sized portions of every chef’s pastries and vote for the winner.

All ticket proceeds will be split between two nonprofit organizations selected by the winning chef and Cronin. Learn more about the bake-off here
