BUCKTOWN — A new streaming series, “Ripple Effects” starring Elisabeth Moss, will film scenes this week in Bucktown.

Film crews will work in the neighborhood Friday-Saturday.

The series is based on the 2013 best-selling novel, “The Shining Girls,” by Lauren Beukes. Emmy-award winner Moss, known for her role in “The Handmaid’s Tale” on Hulu, will play a Sun-Times reporter who hunts down her would-be killer, according to Screen Magazine.

  • No parking 5 p.m. Friday-3 a.m. Saturday on the south side of North Avenue between Wolcott Avenue and Paulina Street.

There will also be intermittent street control at these locations:

  • 9 p.m. Friday-2 a.m. Saturday on Wood Street between North and Pierce avenues.
  • 9 p.m. Friday-2 a.m. Saturday on North Avenue between Wood Street and Hermitage Avenue.

The Chicago Film Office and the Police Department will work with the production team to ensure a safe and positive filming experience, officials said.
