CHICAGO — Kids on the South and West sides can relax with free food, music and fun activities during events Friday night.
On the South Side, Girls Inc. is hosting an event where families and kids of all ages can play lawn games, play games inside an e-sport tent and enjoy tacos, smoothies, doughnuts and more, according to a Mayor’s Office news release. There will be raffles and giveaways. The event is at Palmer Park, 201 E. 111th St.
On the West Side, BASE Chicago is hosting a Community Peace Day event with food, music and activities for families and kids, according to the Mayor’s Office. The event is at Garfield Park’s Gold Dome, 100 N. Central Park Ave.
Both events start 6 p.m. Friday. They are free.
The events are part of Chicago’s Summer Kickback Series, which looks to create safe, fun spaces for youths.
