ANDERSONVILLE — Andersonville will become a pup’s paradise Saturday.

The Andersonville Dog Days of Summer event will happen 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday on Catalpa Avenue between Clark Street and Ashland Avenue. The event will close the street to drivers to make room for vendors and dog-friendly activities.

There will be a free, dog-friendly photo booth, as well as free dog goodie bags and dog agility demonstrations. A parking lot at St. Gregory the Great Church at Ashland and Catalpa avenues will be turned into a temporary dog park, according to the Andersonville Chamber of Commerce.

Andersonville businesses will offer dog-friendly, in-store promotions during the event, including free flower collars at Foursided.

Vendors will include Ándale Market, Chicago Dog Co., Friends of Winnemac Dog Park and pet store Six Point Pet. Defloured Bakery and Downstate Donuts will offer people- and dog-friendly treats.
