CHICAGO — City Colleges of Chicago has a new scholarship for people who graduated from Chicago Public Schools in 2020.
The Advancing Chicago’s Education Scholarship offers students who enroll in a city college for fall 2021 a $1,000 award and free laptop, according to City Colleges.
To be eligible, applicants must meet these requirements:
- Have graduated from a CPS high school last year.
- Be a first-time college student, with no college credits earned after high school graduation.
- Enroll in at least six credit hours for the fall 2021 semester.
- Meet at least once during the term with an assigned college adviser.
The scholarships will be offered on an ongoing, first-come, first-served basis. General registration for the fall closes Aug. 26. Those interested in applying are encouraged to go to the City Colleges website.
