From 9:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. Sunday, Chef’s Special, 2165 N. Western Ave., will kick off its “Western on Western” series: a late-night party featuring a range of country, surf, garage and rock n’ roll.

The bar will serve $5 whiskey drinks and $2 PBRs. DJ Lawrence Peters will play honky tonk and country songs from the 50s-80s.

The kitchen will serve its American-Chinese menu until 10 p.m., and the bar will stay open until 2 a.m.

Chef’s Special opened in early 2020, just before the coronavirus pandemic hit Chicago. The owners also own Giant, in Logan Square.
