DOWNTOWN — Navy Pier is hosting a Pride celebration this weekend with fireworks, music and more.
The popular spot has set up a slew of performances, live music, educational activities and more for Saturday. There will be multiple programs from LGBTQ artists, such as Muffy Fishbasket’s Drag Queen Story Hour with drag queen Miss Mini Pearl. Chicago’s Gay Man Chorus will perform, as well, according to the Navy Pier website.
Taskforce Prevention and Community Services and PFLAG will also be on hand to provide attendees with resources and information. People will be able to get vaccinated against COVID-19 for free, as well, with Johnson & Johnson and Pfizer doss available 3-6:30 p.m. at Polk Brothers Park.
Live performances will run noon-7 p.m. at the Ørsted Wave Wall Platform, and there will be a DJ series and live music 2-11:30 p.m. at the beer garden.
A Pride-themed fireworks display will kick off at 10:15 p.m.
