ENGLEWOOD — A vaccination rally is making its way to Englewood Wednesday afternoon.
The rally will kick off noon at It’s Official Barbershop, 1256 W. 63rd St. At 1:30 p.m., attendees will head to Esperanza Health Clinic, 6057 S. Western Ave., for a vaccine clinic tour.
Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, the husband of Vice President Kamala Harris, will lead a community discussion at the barbershop. Emhoff will be joined by Dr. Cameron Webb, a member of President Joe Biden’s COVID-19 equity task force.
Made to Save, a grassroots community organization that works to ensure communities hit hardest by the pandemic have access to the COVID-19 vaccine, will host the event. The organization is working to vaccinate as many people as possible before the Fourth of July.
Englewood is the least-vaccinated community in Chicago, Dr. Allison Arwady, head of the Chicago Department of Public Health, said at a Tuesday news conference.
