WEST TOWN — Locally made art, gifts, jewelry and beauty products will be sold at an outdoor night market Thursday in West Town.
The Chicago Makers Pop Up Shop will hold the outdoor market 5-9 p.m. on the dog-friendly patio of Midwest Coast Brewing, 2137 W. Walnut St. Arigato Market will serve tacos, and DJ Kostyk will play music.
The Chicago Makers Pop Up Shop’s storefront is at 2064 N. Damen Ave. in Bucktown. Anna Romo and Monica Little launched the pop-up in Wicker Park during last year’s holiday season.
The pop-up began with 30 vendors, most of whom were women and all of whom were local to Chicago. Romo and Little now have a waitlist of more than 400 vendors who want to sell in the Bucktown store.
Because all the vendors can’t fit inside the store at once, events such as Thursday’s outdoor market allow the shop to connect more vendors with customers, Romo said in an email.
“We are especially excited about hosting this market with Midwest Coast Brewing because they were the first local business to partner with us when we first opened our November holiday pop-up shop during the pandemic,” Romo said.

The makers recently hosted an outdoor market at Hexe Coffee Co., and they are planning a holiday market Oct. 1-Dec. 23 in the West Town Chamber of Commerce’s Pop Up Project storefront, 1821 W. Chicago Ave.
In addition to planning markets and running the daily store, the pop-up founders mentor other Chicago artists via a private Facebook group.
Hours of operation for the Bucktown store are noon-7 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday and noon-6 p.m. Sundays.
