CHICAGO — PAWS Chicago, the city’s largest no-kill animal shelter, is hosting Summer Lovin’, a virtual event to find homes for more than 100 adult pets this week.

People who adopt a dog or cat 1 year or older during the event will have their adoption fee waived, according to a PAWS news release. Eligible pets have a blue Summer Lovin’ banner on their profile on PAWS’ website. The event ends Sunday.

People can fill out the shelter’s compatibility quiz (PAWS calls it a comPETibility quiz) and apply online.

Adoption requirements are listed online. Adopters must put down a $100 training deposit that will be refunded once the courses are completed at the PAWS Chicago Training Center.

Once virtual adoption counseling and requirements are completed, adopters will meet their animals at the PAWS Chicago Lincoln Park Adoption Center, 1997 N. Clybourn Ave.

PAWS also is looking for foster homes to give animals a break from the shelter. PAWS provides food, medication and other supplies for animals while they’re fostered.
