BRONZEVILLE — There’s still time for community members to evaluate proposals to revitalize the 47th Street corridor.
The public comment deadline for a a proposed mixed-used development at 449-51 E. 47th St. has been extended until June 18.
Three Black-led development teams vying for the chance to build on the vacant lot unveiled their plans last month, pitching a combination of residential and retail space. The project is part of the Invest South/West initiative, a city program designed to spark major development projects in underserved neighborhoods.
Neighbors can watch each team’s pitch video and fill out a scorecard ahead of the deadline. There’s also a FAQ page.
The feedback will be used in part by city officials to determine which development gets the space.
For additional questions or concerns, neighbors can contact Economic Development Coordinator Kimberly Morris at kimberly.morris@cityofchicago.org.
