STONY ISLAND PARK — A community-led organization is kicking off summertime fun with a youth-inspired event Friday.

From 3-7 p.m. Friday, community members can stop by the ULON Resource Center, 1750 E. 87th St., for live music, grilled food, a double-dutch competition and more. The Jesse White Tumblers will also make a special appearance.

According to ULON, which stands for United Legion, One Nation, the summer jam was inspired by ongoing violence in the city, and the lack of fun, supportive opportunities for kids.

“Kids are f#&!ing tired!” the release said.

All are welcome to attend.
