BOWMANVILLE — More than 100 families will sell goods at Saturday’s Bowmanville Street Sale.

The Bowmanville Street Sale returns 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday throughout the neighborhood. The sale sees neighbors use their sidewalk, yard or garage to sell used household items.

Last year’s event was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. Except for that, the street sale has taken place every year since 1996.

New this year is an interactive map which shows the households participating in the sale. Sweet Virginia’s Kitchen, 5131 N. Damen Ave., will also participate, selling charcuterie boxes.

The street sale event helps the Bowmanville Community Organization fund scholarships for local high school seniors, provide welcome bags to neighbors and publish a quarterly newsletter. The group also organizes a garden walk and summer social.
