WEST TOWN — After canceling the Do Division Street Festival, the West Town Chamber of Commerce is planning an alternative event for the same weekend: The Division Street Summer Stroll.

Shops and restaurants along Division Street between Ashland Avenue and Leavitt Street will offer a variety of specials and sales June 5-6 for the event.

A full lineup of participating businesses is to be announced. Stay tuned by following West Town Chamber of Commerce on Facebook.

The chamber announced the cancellation of Do Division last month. Do Division typically takes place the weekend after Memorial Day and normally takes six to seven months to plan, Kara Salgado, West Town Chamber of Commerce director, said last month. Even with the city reopening and allowing major events, Salgado said there wasn’t enough time to stage Do Division this year.
