COVID Vaccine Shots Available Friday At South Loop’s Village Leadership Academy

Pfizer doses will be used at the event, meaning children 12 and older can get vaccinated there.

CHICAGO — Local organizations are hosting a free coronavirus vaccination event Friday afternoon in the South Loop.

The event is 4-8 p.m. Friday at Village Leadership Academy, 800 S. Wells St. It’s open to community members 12 and older, according to a news release. Appointments are required, though some walk-ups will be available while supply lasts. You can register online to get vaccinated at the event.

People getting vaccinated the event must bring a valid photo ID showing their address and date of birth. The shots are free regardless of a person’s insurance.

People younger than 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to get vaccinated.

First-dose Pfizer shots will be used at the event. Second doses will be available at another event 4-8 p.m. June 11 at the school.

The event is being organized by It Takes a Village Family of Schools with the Rana-Reagan Pharmacy, UI Health, Miles Square Health Center and IMPACT.
