Block Club Chicago’s “It’s All Good” podcast is out with Episode 2!

The episode’s title is “The Pastor and the Ninja,” and it focuses on two Chicagoans building up their community one square foot at a time.

Reshorna Fitzpatrick, pastor at the historic Stone Temple Missionary Baptist Church, is part of the effort to build Love Blooms Here Plaza. The goal is to repurpose shipping containers in North Lawndale to create a community plaza with a florist, coffee shop and a museum. They think the project can bring visitors to the neighborhood and support locals.

Marcelino Riley, who has competed on “American Ninja Warrior,” is raising money to build wellness sanctuaries so residents can grow their own food and work out for free.
