BUCKTOWN — The Chicago Makers Pop Up Shop will have its first outdoor market this weekend on the patio of Hexe Coffee Co.
Neighbors can come by Hexe to shop for gifts, artwork, skincare, candles and other items 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday at 2000 W. Diversey Ave. Everything for sale was made by a Chicago-based artist or maker.
Reserve your free ticket for the market online. Masks are required and contactless payment is encouraged.
Anna Romo and Monica Little, Chicago Makers Pop Up co-founders, are working with Hexe owner Parker Slade on preparing the outdoor market, Romo said in an email.
“Monica and I are still stunned that we are able to host a market like this just months after starting the holiday pop-up shop,” she said. “We are so excited to be working with Parker because he got his start selling his roasted coffee at markets, and we are all in alignment with creating opportunities of growth for small businesses.”
The Chicago Makers Pop Up Shop’s storefront is at 2064 N. Damen Ave. in Bucktown. Romo and Little launched the pop-up in Wicker Park during last year’s holiday season.
In addition to this weekend’s outdoor market, Romo and Little are planning the Chicago Makers Academy, a virtual small business coaching program they hope to launch in June.
With one-on-one Zoom coaching calls, advice on social media optimization and more, the program will “de-mystify the ins-and-outs of building a successful small business,” Romo said.
Lastly, the makers are planning a holiday market Oct. 1-Dec. 23 within the West Town Chamber of Commerce’s Pop-Up storefront, 1821 W. Chicago Ave.
More information will be released on the coaching program and the holiday pop-up.
Hours of operation for the Bucktown store are noon-7 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday and noon-6 p.m. Sundays.
