PILSEN — A pop-up will have free dog and cat food, toys and more for Chicago pet owners Friday.
The pet food pantry is open 10 a.m.-noon Friday at Chicago Animal Care and Control, 2741 S. Western Ave.
The pop-up is organized by Chicago Animal Care and Control, Hindsdale Humane Society, Rescue Pack Chicago, Fetching Tails Foundation and the Cook County Sheriff’s Office.
The Sheriff’s Office and Fetching Tails have held other pet food giveaways throughout the pandemic. Linda Wakes, co-founder of Fetching Tails, said pet owners have struggled with having enough food for themselves and their fur babies during the pandemic.
“We are trying to do our part to help people that need the help,” Wakes previously told Block Club. “We’re all in this together.”
