Help Neighbors Clean Up East Ukrainian Village, West Town Parks This Weekend

Volunteers will receive a free lunch catered by Ukrainian Village restaurant TaKorea Cocina.

EAST UKRAINIAN VILLAGE — West Town neighbors are getting together this weekend in honor of Earth Day to clean up local parks and residential blocks.

Neighbors will clean the following four parks and surrounding blocks 10 a.m.-noon Saturday:

  • Commercial Park, 1845 W. Rice St.
  • Honore Park, 935 N. Honore St.
  • Superior Park, 2101 W. Superior St.
  • Snowberry Park, 1851 W. Huron St.

Before heading out to clean, volunteers must stop by Commercial Park in East Ukrainian Village to sign a waiver and pick up bags and gloves. Volunteers must wear masks.

At noon, volunteers will receive a free lunch catered by Ukrainian Village restaurant TaKorea Cocina. A spring-themed children’s craft activity will be held noon-2 p.m. at Commercial Park.

Those interested in helping should sign up online so organizers know how much food to order.
