LINCOLN SQUARE — The Lincoln Square Farmers Market is set to return a month earlier than normal.
The Tuesday market will start May 4 and return weekly through November, 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the Thursday market will start May 6 and return weekly through October, 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Both markets will be located on Lincoln and Leland avenues.
To ensure the safety of all shoppers and vendors, the Lincoln Square Farmers Market will be following the 2021 COVID-19 guidelines.
“The Lincoln Square Farmers Market continues to be a community destination for residents to pick up seasonal fruits and vegetables and small-batch foods and also to connect with the Midwest farmers, growers, and local food artisans,” said Nicole Benjamin, the Lincoln Square Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce’s director of special events. “We are thrilled to have several new participants join us full time, providing shoppers the opportunity to purchase products and support a wide range of unique vendors selling healthy and delicious food.”
For the 2021 season, a “Friends of the Market” initiative will be introduced for shoppers to help raise funds so the market can grow and thrive. As the market is part of a nonprofit organization, Lincoln Square relies on vendor stall fees plus sponsorship and grants to keep things running. Additional support will ensure that vendor costs are kept low and that management of the market is kept strong.
The Friends of the Market fundraising tiers range from $75 to $200 and people participating will receive perks like a canvas tote or t-shirt depending on the level of donation.
