Englewood Business Owners Can Get Free Help Applying For $250K City Grants

The Neighborhood Opportunity Fund grant deadline has been extended until April 16.

ENGLEWOOD — South Side entrepreneurs looking to apply for a city grant of up to $250,000 can receive free help from the Greater Englewood Community Development Corporation.

The latest Neighborhood Opportunity Fund application deadline has been extended through April 16. Residents can contact the Greater Englewood Community Development Corporation at 773-651-2400 or info@gecdc.org. A technical assistance video also available on the organization’s YouTube page.

Launched in 2016, the Neighborhood Opportunity Fund is a city-funded grant program designed to help South and West Side business owners upgrade and repairs their properties. The grants can be used for things like building construction, repairing facades and roofs and other similar improvements.

Grants of up to $250,000 are available.

Businesses can determine if they are eligible for a grant by plugging in their business address here. Large stretches of Englewood and West Englewood qualify, including West 63rd Street, parts of 59th Street, Halsted Street, Ashland Avenue and Western Avenue.
