HERMOSA — Neighborhood leaders in Hermosa are giving free diapers to families hit hard by the pandemic — and they need your help.
The diaper drive is a partnership between Hermosa Neighborhood Association and Hermosa Mutual Aid. The organization’s leaders are seeking online donations. Neighbors are also encouraged to buy diapers and drop them off at select businesses.
The goal is to help Hermosa families who have been disproportionately impacted by the pandemic. The 60639 ZIP code, which includes part of Hermosa, is one of the hardest-hit ZIP codes in the state.
“These needs are ongoing and the more we can raise, the longer we can provide to alleviate just a portion of the catastrophic economic damage to Hermosa residents,” leaders wrote on the event page.
Diapers can be dropped off at:
- Right Bee Cider,1830 N. Kostner Ave., open weekends and weekdays
- Ald. Carlos Ramirez-Rosa’s 35th Ward office, 2934 N. Milwaukee Avenue, Unit C, open weekdays
- Ald. Felix Cardona Jr.’s 31st Ward office, 4606 W. Diversey Ave., open weekdays
