ROGERS PARK — There will be a mask giveaway with 10,000 cloth face coverings for Rogers Park residents Sunday.

The event is noon Sunday at The Glenwood, 6962 N. Glenwood Ave. Residents can pick up sealed packages of five cloth masks.

It will be first come, first served until the supply of masks runs out, organizers said.

The event is sponsored by The Glenwood bar and the Rogers Park Chamber of Commerce.

The masks are courtesy the city’s Office of Equity and Racial Justice, said Bill Morton, president of the Rogers Park Chamber of Commerce. This is not the first neighborhood-wide mask giveaway hosted by the chamber.

Chicago businessman and politician Willie Wilson previously donated 200,000 face masks to the Rogers Park chamber. Wilson, who owns a medical supply company, has offered 1 million masks for wards throughout Chicago.

Those masks were passed out over the summer, Morton said.
