CHICAGO — It can be hard to find families for big dog who don’t have homes — so PAWS Chicago is highlighting them for Valentine’s Day in hopes of getting them adopted.
PAWS, the city’s largest no-kill animal shelter, will highlight dogs 40 pounds and heavier as part of its Big Love virtual adoption event Monday through Sunday. They hope the effort will help those animals, who can sometimes have a harder time finding a home because of their size, connect with a permanent family, according to a news release.
You can see which dogs are part of the event — and learn how to adopt them — by going to PAWS’ website. Dogs who are included in the Big Love event have a pink banner by their photo.
Also for the holiday, PAWS is giving supporters the chance to name a pet at the facility if they donate $100 or more. People can also donate $50 or more to get a dog bandanna. More donation options are available on the shelter’s website.
