CHICAGO — The Lakeview Roscoe Village Chamber of Commerce is hosting a virtual 5K and January wellness initiative encouraging neighbors to stay healthy while supporting local businesses.

The Week of Wellness runs Jan. 18-24. It will feature free nutrition seminars, mediations, fitness classes and more events livestreamed through Zoom or IGTV and hosted by various local businesses, according to the chamber.

The virtual 5K lasts through Jan. 31 and encourages neighbors to run 3.1 miles at some point during the month, according to the chamber.

Participants who enter the 5K will receive a discount code for running shoes at Fleet Feet, 3359 N. Southport Ave. They’ll also get suggested routes and a link where they can submit their times.

People can register for the 5K online.

A $5 entry fee is suggested to participate. Proceeds will benefit the Lakeview Roscoe Village Chamber, which is a product of the recent merger between the Lakeview and Roscoe Village business groups.

The two programs are part of the chamber’s larger Winter Wellness initiative, which features deals from local health and wellness businesses throughout January.
