LINCOLN PARK – Fans of popular hot dog joint the Weiner’s Circle are pitching in to support its staff while the restaurant is temporarily closed for renovations.
The Weiner’s Circle, located at 2622 N. Clark St., closed its doors on Saturday, promising to return later this year with “new improvements, but the same marquee sign and incredible staff.”
The small hot dog joint, known for leaving snarky, political or comedic messages on its marquee, is undergoing renovations that require the store to be closed, leaving its cooks and other staffers out of work, according to its owners.
To support its staff during the closure, the Wiener’s Circle is raising money for its employees through a GoFundMe campaign. More than $2,000 has been raised since it launched on Friday.
Details on the renovations were not immediately available, and representatives from the Wiener’s Circle did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
