CHICAGO — A Chicago drag queen competing on the new season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” has partnered with a local brewery for a CBD-infused drink.
Drag performer Denali‘s Winter Wildflower is a non-alcoholic CBD seltzer inspired by the queen’s Alaskan upbringing and Mexican heritage. Denali will be featured in the latest season of “Drag Race,” premiering Friday.
Released in partnership with Do312 and Marz Brewing, 3630 S. Iron St., the drink has a floral and citrusy tone complemented by warm spices, according to a news release.
A portion of the drink’s proceeds will benefit El Rescate Transitional Living Program, which offers identity-affirming housing for homeless LGBTQ youth or young people living with HIV in Chicago.
The Winter Wildflower’s name is a nod to Denali’s “ice queen” reputation, which comes from her being a professionally trained ice skater, dancer and choreographer.
Before moving to Chicago several years ago to pursue drag, Denali performed across the world with Cirque du Soleil Crystal and the Royal Caribbean cruise line.
Denali’s drink goes on sale by Friday.
