LOGAN SQUARE — Unity Park Advisory Council leaders have launched an online auction to pay for programs at the Logan Square park.
With the group’s annual winter fundraiser canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic, group leaders created an auction featuring 20 “one-of-a-kind” gifts and experiences.
Items you can bid on include original artwork, a Metropolis Coffee gift basket, a set of panniers from Boulevard Bikes, a history tour of Logan Square and much more.
For a full list of items, and to bid on them, go to the online auction. The auction will run through noon Saturday.
Like park groups across Chicago, the Unity Park Advisory Council has had to try new things to fill the gap left by canceled fundraisers.
Eric DeBellis, co-chair of the group, said in a news release the contributions neighbors make this week will “go a long way toward reclaiming our sense of community after a long year.”
Also this week, neighbors who donate $5 or more on the Unity Park Advisory Council website will be entered to win raffle prizes, such as “Lucha Libre in the Park” T-shirts, a care box from Fleur, a gardening set and The Logan Square Book. The winner will be announced Dec. 20.
All of the money raised through the auction and the raffle will go toward programs at Unity Park at 2636 N. Kimball Ave.
