IRVING PARK — The Irving Park Community Food Pantry is asking for donations to help feed and deliver toys to neighborhood families for the holidays.

Money can be sent via PayPal on the organization’s website. Checks can be sent to Irving Park Food Pantry, 4256 N. Ridgeway Ave., Chicago, IL 60618.

The Irving Park pantry can buy food at a discount from the Greater Chicago Food Depository. But food shortages this year have forced the Irving Park organization to source food from several places, which has increased costs.

This year’s toy program will also change significantly, with the pantry asking for monetary donations instead of specific gifts for children up to 12 years old. Financial contributions will help the pantry give a stocking full of holiday goodies to children the pantry serves.

The pantry is encouraging neighbors to make their monetary donations before Wednesday to ensure all toys and gifts are received in time to be distributed.
