Have Food To Donate? Ald. La Spata’s Office Taking Donations For Holiday Dinner Giveaway

Locals can drop off food at the alderman's office through Dec. 19. Organizers are collecting frozen meat, canned vegetables, dinner rolls and more.

LOGAN SQUARE — Ald. Daniel La Spata’s 1st Ward office is collecting donations to make sure families in need have food this holiday season.

Neighbors can drop off food 10 a.m.-noon Tuesdays and Thursdays through Dec. 19 at the alderman’s office, 1958 N. Milwaukee Ave.

The alderman’s office is collecting frozen meat, including turkey, chicken and ham, as well as canned vegetables, dinner rolls, pre-packaged salad mix, boxes of stuffing and mashed potatoes and more.

The giveaway will be a drive-thru affair. The plan is to hand out holiday dinner kits Dec. 19 in the vacant CVS at 2053 N. Milwaukee Ave. while supplies last.
