AUBURN GRESHAM — Hometown pizza chain Home Run Inn is giving out 500 frozen pizzas to South Side residents as part of Giving Tuesday.
The first 500 drivers to pull up to St. Sabina Church, 1210 W. 78th Place, starting 11 a.m. Tuesday will receive a free frozen cheese or pepperoni pizza and healthy recipe cards, courtesy of Big Green, a health education nonprofit, and Stein Learning Gardens, St. Sabina’s healthy eating program.
The event kicks off the pizzeria’s month-long donation drive for first responders, hospital staff and families in need, according to a company representative.
The national chain has donated more than 30,000 pizzas and helped feed 80,000 families since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Gina Bolger, senior vice president of branding.
Home Run Inn opened on the South Side in 1947 and operates nine stores in the Chicagoland area.
