ROGERS PARK — Community nonprofits will host two turkey giveaways this week in Rogers Park and Uptown.

A Just Harvest will host a turkeys and fixings giveaway 3-5 p.m. Wednesday at its office, 7649 N. Paulina St.

The community group is giving away turkeys, chickens and other Thanksgiving foods on a first-come, first-served basis. No documentation or identification is required, according to the group.

For those who can’t make it to A Just Harvest’s offices, the nonprofit will provide Thanksgiving food deliveries 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday.

People who want a Thanksgiving food delivery can email david@ajustharvest.org with their address, contact information and dietary restrictions. Priority will be given to people in Rogers Park, but A Just Harvest will seek to help those in other communities.

Separately, ONE Northside and Communities Partnering 4 Peace are throwing a turkey giveaway Friday at three locations in Rogers Park and and three locations in Uptown.

The groups will hand out turkeys 3-4 p.m. at Morse and Ashland avenues; 4-5 p.m. at Howard Street and Marshfield Avenue; and 5-6 p.m. at Howard Street and Damen Avenue.

The two nonprofit groups will also hand out turkeys at noon in Uptown’s Clarendon Park, at 1 p.m. at Wilson Avenue and Broadway and at 2 p.m. at Argyle and Kenmore avenues.

Everyone attending the giveaway is asked to wear a mask.
