SOUTH SHORE — After months of offering free coronavirus tests at Bouchet Elementary in South Shore, Friend Health is now testing in the neighborhood at the Woodhull Park Fieldhouse, 7340 S. East End Ave.

The Woodhull Park testing facility is open to all 9 a.m.–2 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays. It is free, and no appointment or pre-registration is necessary. Testing is available to symptomatic and asymptomatic people.

“So that we have a sustainable testing environment throughout the winter, we decided in collaboration with South Shore Works and the city of Chicago to relocate testing to Woodhull Park Fieldhouse,” said Wendy Thompson, Friend Health’s chief officer of strategy and development.

Testing is first come, first served. The facility averaged 110 coronavirus tests daily at the Woodhull Park location in its first week.

Drive-through and walkup testing is also available at the following locations:

  • Friend Health in Hyde Park, 800 E. 55th St.: 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; 8 a.m.–noon Saturdays.
  • Friend Health in Gage Park, 5843 S. Western Ave.: 9 a.m.–3 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
  • Tents in Auburn Gresham, at the northeast corner of 79th Street Racine Avenue: 9 a.m.–4 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays
